Why We Built This Site
Missouri provides several public access channels, yet each answers a different question. The Knox County Sheriff holds its incident and arrest reports and confirms custody or warrants through official channels. The Circuit Clerk maintains filed cases and dispositions. MSHP CJIS runs the statewide criminal-history repository, while the Department of Corrections covers state custody or supervision and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry covers registration data. We organize those boundaries, request steps, fees when published, and direct government links.
What You Will Find Here
- Official check steps: how Missouri name and fingerprint searches work through MSHP CJIS
- Record guides: how criminal court cases are found and read in Knox County
- Record cleanup information: where Missouri expungement petitions are filed and which office holds the case
- Agency contacts: how to reach the sheriff, Circuit Clerk, and statewide systems serving Knox County
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Missouri court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Its limits are clear:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot promise that every listed phone number, fee, address, or procedure remains current
Only the record holder, such as the Knox County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, or MSHP CJIS, can issue an official criminal record copy.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes on some pages. They control their own results, services, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports the site. We do not set provider charges or control the records they return.
